At KiwiSpan, we like to provide products that offer exceptional quality, durability, and style for our steel shed builds. That’s why we’re excited to spotlight one of the standout products from our trusted roofing supplier, Roofing Industries – the versatile and cost-effective Slimclad™ cladding profile.

What is Slimclad™?

Slimclad™ is a low-rib, economical metal cladding solution designed for a wide range of applications, including commercial sheds, farm sheds and residential builds (shed homes). Its sleek, modern profile delivers both function and form, making it an ideal choice for sheds, steel garages, workshops and barns where both aesthetics and function matter.

Why We Recommend Slimclad™ for KiwiSpan Sheds

Here’s why Slimclad™ is a popular option among KiwiSpan customers:

Efficient and Seamless Installation

Slimclad™ has a wider sheet coverage and features a close nesting lap edge supported by a unique under-lap support leg. This means faster installation, cleaner joins, and fewer visible fixings which overall save time on site and ensure a sharp, seamless finish.

Design Flexibility

Slimclad™ is available in a range of finishes to suit different aesthetic needs:

It can be run in the standard or Reverse-Run orientation. Reverse-Run Slimclad™ provides additional protection against birds and vermin, reduces the chances of leakage at the sidelap. The Reverse-Run SlimClad™ option that has been incorporated into many KiwiSpan sheds and garages to give a more aesthetically pleasing and liveable type project.

Other advantages of the Reverse-Run SlimClad™:

  • Immediately forms a cavity
  • Extremely economical
  • Aesthetic
  • Flashing systems that are more in keeping with homes rather than just sheds including no penetration of the flashings (aesthetically pleasing)
  • Cut to length and no waste
  • Substrates suitable for NZ corrosive environments
  • Thermal breaks supplied
  • Can be internally lined and insulated

Custom swaging options also allow us to tailor the look to suit your shed’s purpose and location:

  • Twin half swage – Delicate and reasonably shallow.
  • Twin full swage – Deeper than half swage, for aesthetics purposes.
  • No swage

Please note: Roofing Industries no longer have no swage Reverse-Run SlimClad™ as an option.

Built for New Zealand Conditions

With material options in 0.40mm or 0.55mm base metal thickness, Slimclad™ is engineered for performance. When installed with appropriate substrates and weatherproofing, it stands up well to the variable and often challenging conditions across New Zealand.
