With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Cheyne Ryder brings a rare combination of practical trade knowledge, quantity surveying expertise and project management capability to KiwiSpan Southland.

His background spans commercial, industrial and residential projects across Southland. Through previous Quantity Surveying and Project Management roles, he has built extensive experience in cost planning, tendering, contract administration, project coordination, financial reporting and project delivery.

Originally trained in Plumbing, Gas-fitting and Metal Roofing & Cladding, Cheyne offers a strong practical understanding of how buildings come together on site, not just on paper. This hands-on experience, combined with his quantity surveying qualifications, gives clients confidence that budgets, timelines and build outcomes are being managed with care, accuracy and real-world insight.

Over the years, Cheyne has worked on a wide range of significant Southland projects, including a variety of residential, commercial, civic, retail and industrial developments throughout the region.
