The KiwiSpan Annual Awards recognise the incredible people, teams, and projects that make up our nationwide network. It’s our chance to celebrate the passion, hard work, and innovation that go into every KiwiSpan build. Whether it’s a stunning commercial build or a resilient shed house that stands up to the weather, KiwiSpan’s sheds are designed and made tough.

Winner: Modern Building Product
For the second consecutive year, Modern Building Products, led by Warren Dingle, is Supplier of the Year at the KiwiSpan Awards. Known for always being available, getting the basics right, and bringing that warm, can-do Kiwi attitude, Modern Building Products has truly earned its place as a trusted and also valued part of the KiwiSpan family.
Winner: McLachlan Shed – KiwiSpan Wairarapa
This building by Rowan Thornton and Tonya Harrison at KiwiSpan Wairarapa is a standout example of subtle design done right. Featuring wing walls and a gable eave to add depth and dimension, this project beautifully blends practicality with polish and evidently showcases the quality and craftsmanship KiwiSpan is known for with workshop sheds.
Winner: Monster Fishing – KiwiSpan Northland
The Monster Fishing Online and Retail Store impressed with its scale and technical precision. Furthermore, incorporating a 180/180/180 fire wall with a 6 metre knee height, this project by Stephen and Emma Cross at KiwiSpan Northland highlights KiwiSpan’s ability to deliver complex, high-performance commercial shed builds.
Winner: Rowan Thorton, KiwiSpan Wairarapa
This year’s winner, Rowan Thorton, perfectly embodies the KiwiSpan spirit. He is known throughout the network as a genuine “good bugger” – always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, and offer guidance to others. As a result, his time, effort, and generosity have made a huge impact on the KiwiSpan community.
Winner: KiwiSpan Whakatāne
Daniel Walter and Meagan Hartung from KiwiSpan Whakatāne take home the People’s Choice Award for receiving the highest number of positive reviews across all platforms. Their reputation for great communication, excellent service, and top-notch builds speaks for itself, therefore proving that when you put the customer first, good things follow.
Runner-Up: KiwiSpan Otago/South Canterbury
Winner: KiwiSpan Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough
KiwiSpan Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough, led by Emerson Mytton and Dan McCorkindale, stood out for their exceptional marketing efforts, driving local engagement through strong online presence, community sponsorships, and event participation. Their creative and consistent approach has helped raise the profile of the KiwiSpan brand throughout the region. From the Marlborough A&P to the Rai Valley A&P show, KiwiSpan Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough is showing up where it counts.
Runner-Up: KiwiSpan New Plymouth
Winner: KiwiSpan Northland
Stephen and Emma Cross and KiwiSpan Northland have earned this award for their all-round strength in business operations. Their professionalism and consistency continue to set a high benchmark within the network.
Runner-Up: KiwiSpan Counties
Winner: KiwiSpan Tauranga
The most prestigious award of the night went to Darryn and Jill Astill from KiwiSpan Tauranga. This award was determined across multiple criteria, including sales volume, growth, marketing and customer experience. The team demonstrated outstanding results across every category – as a result of their drive, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to quality.
Congratulations again to all our winners at the KiwiSpan Awards. We couldn’t be prouder of what this network has achieved in 2025 and look ahead to another exceptional year in 2026!
